Summer’s are finally here and with scorching hear, what one can wait for is the eagerly awaited long summer vacation. It is the tallest statue in the world with a height of 182 meters. It was built at a cost of around ₹3000 Cr and is taller than the Statue of Liberty and even the great Statue of Buddha in China. It is located 200 km away from Ahmedabad and has good connectivity with roadway routes. It was built as a homage to Vallabhbhai Patel as a symbol of respect for one of the greatest personalities in India. The structure lies next to the Narmada River and the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The statue of unity ticket costs ₹150 which includes admission to the statue, a shuttle service, a museum, the Valley of Flowers and the Sardar Sarovar Dam viewpoint. The operational hours are from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, you can book your tickets in advance so that you do not miss out on anything in the wonderful tour.

The Statue remains open from Tuesday to Sunday but is closed on Monday for maintenance purposes. All the amenities are well maintained and have impeccable services. There is a 3-star hotel that the government has built inside the Sardar Patel Statue Complex. Along with this you also find shopping centres and a research centre. The audio-visual gallery and museum hold great attraction but what catches the limelight is the laser light show which provides information on the unification of India.
Tourists can also enjoy a ferry ride or even a helicopter ride. The helicopter ride is ₹2900 and it provides tourists with an aerial view of the area (Sardar Sarovar Dam), especially the magnificent statue. Along with all these, you can also enjoy the glorious ethereal view of the Narmada River, the Satpura and the Vindhya hills.
